CFC is a volunteer based non-profit community organization that has come together to build a community garden which will provide fresh, organic vegetables for those in need in Sturbridge and Southbridge and we donate 100% of what we grow.
The idea was suggested by Joseph Coan, a local Landscape Architect. The Rotary Club of Sturbridge liked the idea and have been joined by the Rotary Club of Southbridge. One objective of Sturbridge Rotary has been to help feed the less fortunate and have been doing so for a number of years with an annual dedicated fundraiser for the St. John Paul II Food Pantry. Southbridge Rotary has done something similar. Therefore, it was a logical transition for both Clubs to add another level of help for the Food Pantry. Sturbridge Rotary took the initiative to organize within the structure of a Rotary Community Corps of Sturbridge & Southbridge. This Corps oversees all aspects of the CFC.
